This Indenture made this tenth day of april in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fourteen, between Nehemiah Wood and Eva his wife of the county of Gallia and State of Ohio of the one part and James Jourdan of the county of Cabell in the commonwealth of Virginia of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Nehemiah Wood and Eva his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred & twenty five dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge, have bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain and sell unto the said James Jourdan his heirs and assigns, a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the said county of Cabell on Mud River between the land sold to Jourdan by Samuel Cabell attorney for John P. Duvall and the Land sold by __ Duvall & Legates of John P. Duvall to Martha Sanders, containing near about one hundred acres and which Land was purchased by the said Nehemiah Wood from the said ?Marcus? Duvall, together with all and singular the premises and the reversion & reversions, remainder and remainders, yearly and other rents issues & profits thereof and of ___ part & parcel thereof. To have and to hold the said Tract or parcel of Land with the tenenents hereditaments and all and singular other the premises herein before mentioned or intended to be bargained and sold and every part and parcel thereof with every of their right, members and apputenances, unto him the said James Jourdan his Heirs and assigns forever and the said Nehemiah Wood and Eva his wife for themselves and their Heirs, the said tract or parcel of land with all and singular the premises and appurtenances before mentioned unto the said James Jourdan his heirs and assigns free from the claim or claims the said Nehemiah Wood and Eva his wife or either of them their or either of their heirs, and of all and every person or persons whatsoever claiming from through or under them shall will and do warrant and for ever defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said Nehemiah Wood and Eva his wife have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seal this day and year first above written.

Memorandum
It is agreed by and between the parties to the within Indenture That in case the said James Jourdan his heirs or assigns shold wer be evicted from the Land herein, bargained and sold, in consequence of any claim or title, not defended against and included in the within Warrant, that then and in that case the said Nehemiah or his heirs shall and will refund to the said James Jourdan his heirs or assigns the within mentioned purchase money with interest from the 12th June 1805 as witness our hands and seals this 10th of April 1814
