James Jorden Senr – 100 acres in Cabell County
situated on the Mud River

sold to Andrew Jorden

This Indenture made and entered into the fourth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen, between James Jorden Senr of Cabell County and State of Virginia of the one part, and Andrew Jorden of the County and State afore said, Witnesseth that the said James Jorden Senr for and in consideration of one dollar to him in hand paid hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain sell and deliver unto the sd Andrew Jorden a certan tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the county of Cabell and situated on Mud River above and adjoining John Jorden‘s survey where said Andrew Jorden now lives and adjoining Thomas Kilgore‘s and John Morris on the upper side containing one hundred acres to have and to hold the said tract of Land with the tenements and all and singular the appurtenances unto the said Andrew Jorden his heirs and assigns forever to and for the only proper use and behoof of him the said Andrew Jorden his heirs and assigns forever And the said James Jorden Senr for himself his heirs the Land with all and singular the appurtenances before mentioned to the sd Andrew Jorden his heirs and assigns free from the claim of myself my heirs and assigns or any persons claiming in through or under me. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this day and year above written.

At a Court held for Cabell County on Tuesday the sixth day of April 1813, An indenture of bargain and sale between James Jorden Senr. Of the one part and Andrew Jorden of the other part was acknowledged by the said James Jorden Senr and ordered to be recorded.
