This Indenture made & entered into this 15th day of april 1821 between John Jorden senr and Siney his wife of the county of Cabell & state of Virginia of the one part & William N. Jorden of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Jorden & Sinney his wife for & in consideration of the sum of five dollars lawful Money of virginia to them in hand paid at or before the ensealing of these presents the receipt whereof they hereby acknowledge, paid to them by the said William N. Jorden have given granted bargained & sold unto the said Wm N. Jorden [words missing] & being in Cabell County on land where on the said John Jorden senr now lives it being part of that tract, Beginning at a poplar at the of branch thence runing down the branch to to trace creek thence down the creek to the original line thence with the old line a white oak thence with the old line to two white oaks thence to a white oak on the top of a ridge then to the Beginning Containing one hundred acres be the same more or less to have & to hold the said land with its appurtenances before mentioned & the said John Jorden & siney his wife for themselves their heirs & assigns do the said land with & all and singular the appurtenances and the said John Jorden senr and Sinny his wife for themselves their heirs & assigns do each and severally of them do do warrant & forever defend the said land free from themselves their heirs & assigns & free from all persons whatsoever. This Indenture made and enterd into this 15th day of October One thousand eight hundred and Twenty five between William N Jordan & Clory his wife of the county of Cabell & State of virginia of the first part and William Brumfield of the Second part Witnesseth that the said William N Jordan & Clory his wife in consideration of the Sum of One dollar to him in hand paid by the Said William Brumfield the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by the Said William N Jordan & Clory his wife hath given, granted bargained and sold unto the said William Brumfield and do give grant bargain & sell unto the said William Brumfield his heirs and assigns forever a certain peace of land lying and being in the county of Cabell on the waters of trace fork of Guyandotte it being a part of tract of two hundred acres of land with John Jordan purchased of William Fullerton beginning at a marked poplar standing on the bank of a branch at the mouth of the first drain above the plantation where John H Brumfield now lives thence down the said branch to trace creek thence down said creek to the Second line of said Survey thence with the said line N110E to a white oak thench with the third line of said survey to two white oaks the fourth corner of said survey thence with the fourth line of said survey to a marked white oak thence to the poplar the Beginning to include one hundred acres be the same more or less with an exemption of a certain boundry of land which said William N Jordan deeded to William Porter supposed to be twenty five acres more or less to have and to huld unto said William Brumfield his heirs and assigns forever with all and singular the appurtainances and it is further covenanted and agreede between the parties of the first part and William Brumfield his heirs and assigns that in the event of the said William Brumfield his heirs or assigns being at any time evicted from the said land or any part of it by superior title in and for the said consideration of the said William N Jordan and Clory his wife not being liable for any damages in case the said land should be lost, the said William N Jordan & Clory his wife and the said William N Jordan and Clory his wife doth hereby further covenant and agree that they will forever warrant and defend the right and title to the above peace of land unto the said William Brumfield his heirs and assigns forever free from the claim of themselves their heirs or assigns but against no other claim whatsoever doth they defend. In Testamony whereof we have hereunto set our hands & seals this day and year first above written.

We William Fullerton and Thos Kilgore justices of the peace for said county do certify that William N Jordan, party to the foregoing Deed of Conveyance personally appeared before us in our said county and acknowledged the same to be his act and Deed, and desired us to certify the same to the clerk of our said county so that it may be admitted to record Given under our hands and Seal this 17th day of Oct. 1825

We Thomas Kilgore and William Fullerton justices of the peace in the county afforesd state of virginia do hereby certify that Cleary Jordan wife of William Jordan parties to a certain deed bearing deat on the 15th October 1825 and hereunto annexed personally appeared before us in our sd county and being examined by us privily and aparty from her husband and having the Deed aforesaid fully explained to her she the sd Cleary Jordan acknowledged the same to be her act and Deed, and declared that She had willingly signed Sealed and delivered the same & that she wished not to retract it. Given under our hands and seals this 17th October 1825.
