This Indenture made and entered into this 27th day of October 1827 between William Jordan Senr and Blanche his wife of the county of Cabell & State of Virginia of the one part and Joseph Malcom of the county and State aforesaid of the other witnesseth that the said William Jordan senr & Blanche his wife in consideration of the sum of Two thousand one hundred dollars lawful money of this state to them in hand paid by the said Joseph Malcom at or before the unsealing of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have bargained & Sold unto the said Joseph Malcom and by these presents do bargain and sell unto Joseph Malcom his heirs exutors admintors or assigns a certain tract or parcel of land containing three hundred acres lying and being in the county of Cabell and state of virginia and Known by the place whereon the said Jordan now lives and resides and bounded as follows towit. Beginning at a small Elm on mud river at the mouth of Sanders creek on the upper side of the said creek thence with Sanders Line S32W217 poles to a white oak & Sowerwood corner to Martha Sanders tract or Survey whereon she now lives thence S58E running with Sanders line to a white oak and hickory on said Sanders line thence leaving said Sander’s line S53W with a marked line to a black oak near the head of a small branch joining Adam Blacks line thence down said branch with its several meanders to two white oaks joining of Martha Sander’s survey which she purchased of Abraham Trout thence up a small drain to a black oak gum & sowerwood near the head of said drain thence N32E to a beech and Gum on Sanders line and thence with marked line made by Laurence Briant and Said William Jordan Senr to the old original line of said Jordan’s survey, and thence N32E with the old Original line corssing mud river to an elm on the north side and thence up said mud river with its several meanders to the Beginning with all and singular the appurtenances hereditamints emoluments houses barns. To have & to hold the said three hundred acres of land with the tenements hereditaments and all and singular the appurtenances and premises before mentioned or intended to be bargained & Sold and every part & parcel thereof, with every of their rights appurtanences unto the said Joseph Malcom his heirs and assignees forever to and for the only proper use and behoof of him to said Joseph Malcom his heirs and assignees forever and the said William Jordan Senr & Blanche his wife for theruntres their heirs and assignees the said land with all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said Joseph Malcom his heirs and assignees free from the claim or claims of themselves their heirs and assignees and of all and every person or persons whatsoever shall will and do warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Witness whereof the said William Jordan Senr and Blanche his wife have hereunto set their hands & affixed their seals this year & date above written.

We William Fullerton and Abia Rece Justices of the Peace for said County & State of Virginia do hereby certify that William Jordan Senr party to a certain deed bearing date on the 17th day of Oct 1827 and hereto annexed personally appeared before us in the county aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be his act deed and usered as to certify the said acknowledgement to the clerk of the county court of Cabell in order that the said deed may be recorded. Given under our hands & seals this 18th day of Oct. 1827.

We William Fullerton and Abia Rece justices of the peace for the county of Cabell & State of Virginia do hereby certify that Blanche Jordan the wife of William Jordan parties to a certain deed bearing date on the 17th day of October 1827 and hereunto annexed personally appeared before us in our county aforesaid and being examined by us privily and apart from her husband and having the deed aforesaid fully explained to her She the said Blanche Jordan acknowledged the same to be her act and deed and declared that she had willingly signed sealed & delivered the same and that she wished not to retract it. Given under our hands & seals this 18th day of October 1827.

This Indenture made this 7th day of September in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty three between William Jordan by John Jordan his attorney in fact of the one part and Joseph Malcombe of the other part Witnesseth that whereas, the said William Jordan did on the 17th day of October in the year of our lord 1827 by deed of bargain & Sale ?Sold? and transfer by deed of general warranty three hundred acres of land situate on mud river in cabell county and whereas the said William Jordan at the time of executing the deed aforesaid, had not the legal title to all of the land contained within the boundary of said land; tho he had the equal___ title thereto; and the said William Jordan having since the time of execution of said deed, brought suit against the heirs of John Morris Senr decd and recovered the legal title to eighty five acres of land which was contained within the metes & bounds of the said land & sold and conveyed by the said William Jordan to the said Joseph Malcombe and the said Joseph Malcombe having doubts whether the conveyance under the deed executed to him by the said William Jordan, before the said William Jordan had acquired the legal title thereto, to quiet which fears and doubts: This Indenture Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the premises deed for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to the said William Jordan in hand paid at and before the sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, he the said William Jordan, hath granted, bargained Sold and by these presents do grant bargain & Sell unto the said Joseph Malcombe his heirs and assigns forever, a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the said county of cabell on blacks branch and which is bound as followeth towit Beginning at a Stake near blacks branch thence running S68E226 poles to a white oak and beech on a point S52W103 poles to a black oak and Small hickery on a point between two small drains N68W78 poles to two white oaks near said branch thence N23W130 poles crossing said branch to the Beginning containing eighty five acres of land together with all and Singular the appurtenances thereto belonging as in anywise appurtaining and the revision & revisions remainder and remainders yearly & other rents issues & profits thereof & of any part & parcel thereof. And the said William Jordan for himself & his heirs does hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Joseph Malcombe & his heirs, in manner following that is to say. The said William Jordan hereby covenants and agrees that he will warrant and defend the title to said eighty five acres of land free from the claim of himself & his heirs & free from the claims of all and every other person or persons whatsoever by these presents. In Testimony, whereof the said William Jordan hath hereunto set his hand & seal this day & date above written.
