This Indenture made and entered into the fourth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen, between James Jorden Senr of Cabell County and State of Virginia of the one part, and James Jorden of the County and State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that James Jorden Senr for and in consideration of one dollar to him in hand paid hath this day bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain sell deliver to the James Jorden Senra certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Cabell and situated on Mud River above and adjoining the widow Sanders‘ land and bounded as followeth Towit: beginning at 2 Maples a ___ Ash and by ____ the land sold to Martha Sanders by ____ Duvall, thence S __ W319 poles to most South corner on the original line of John P. Duvall survey of one thousand acres No. 2 thence ___ the original ___ Strait line to a ___ and Iron wood in the point of a hill thence S32W to a sugar tree beech Bucky on the bank of Mud River thence down the same with the several meanders thereof to the Beginning, containing one hundred and twenty five acres be the same more or less to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all and singular the appurtenances thereto belonging. And the said James Jorden Senr doth warrant and forever defend the sd. title free from the claims of myself my heirs or assigns or any person claiming in through or under me. In witness whereof the sd James Jorden hath hereunto set his hand and seal this day and year above written.

At a Court held for Cabell County on Tuesday the sixth day of April 1813, An indenture of bargain and sale between James Jorden Senr. Of the one part and James Jorden of the other part was acknowledged by the said James Jorden Senr and ordered to be recorded.
