This Indenture made this 10th day of December in the Year of our lord eighteen hundred and seventeen Between James Jorden Senr & Sarah his wife of Cabell County and Satate of Virginia of the one part & John Morris Junr of the same place Witnesseth that the said Jorden Senr and Sarah his wife for and in Consideration of the sum of one dollar to them in hand paid by the said John Morris Jur the receipt Whereof they do hereby acknowledge have bargained & Sold and do by these presents bargain and sell unto the said John Morris Junr a certain tract or parcel of land situate in Cabell County lying and being on mud river but more particularly Known by the tract whereon the said Morris Junr Now lives and bounded as follows towit Beginning at a beach Buckeye and sugar tree on the Bank of Mud river a Corner to James Jorden Junr survey thence S35W124 po to 3 white oaks S40E96 po crossing the river to a sowerwood and Ironwood and dogwood thence S43W20po to a Beach and white oak thence S40E68po to a poplar thence N32E114 po to a poplar & Gum N50W18 po to a beach and white oak N20E60 po to a beach N20W10 po crossing _1_ river to a beach and spanish oak thence down the river with its meanders 61 po to a sugar tree thence N14W20 po to two sugar trees and a wales Burch thence down the river with the several meanders thereof to the Beginning Containing One hundred and fifty acres be the same more or less To have and to hold the said land and premises with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto him the said John Morris Jr his heirs and assigns forever and the said James Jordan Senr and Sarah his wife for themselves their Heirs Exor, and admrs shall and will warrant and forever defend the title of the said land & premises free from the Claim or Claims of themselves their Heirs and all persons claiming by through or under them In Witness Whereof they have hereunto set their Hands & Seals this day & date above written

We Thomas Kilgore & William Fullerton magistrates of the said County do hereby certify that James Jorden Senr party to the within Conveyance hath duly acknowledged the same before us on the 2nd day of January in the Year Eighteen hundred and eighteen and desired us to certify the said acknowledgement to the Clerk of the County Court of Cabell in Order that the said Conveyance may be recorded as Witness our hands and Seals

This Deed from James Jorden Senr and Sarah his wife to John Morris Junr was this day presented to me the Clerk of Cabell County Court said James Jorden Senr thereon endorsed the same is therefore admitted to record. Given under my hand this 5th day of January 1818
